Each team will consist of a maximum of seventeen players (15 skaters and 2 goalies).  No more than three adult staff will be allowed in the player box during the game.   

  1. All players must wear approved helmets with approved facemasks as defined by AHAUS and/or High School League rules.  Mouth guards and full hockey equipment are also required.  Any player on the ice during a game without this equipment will be in violation and will receive an automatic misconduct penalty.  Helmets must be worn on the bench at all times.  Anyone under age 18 must wear a helmet on the players bench.
  2. Squirt, PeeWee, U10 ,U12, and U14 level games will consist of two periods of 22 minutes stop half with no resurface.  Bantam, U16, and U19  games will be 22 minutes stop half, with no resurface.  Each goalie will play one period each game at all levels.
  3. Should there be a 6-goal differential at any time during the game (first half or second half) running time will start in the second half.   If the differential falls below six, the game will return to stop time.
  4. All teams must be dressed and ready to play one-half hour before published starting times.
  5. Penalties:  Minor (2 minutes), Major (5 minutes), Misconduct (10 minutes), Fighting (Tournament Disqualification) In the event of coincidental penalties, neither team will skate short handed.  Any player receiving five penalties in one game will be disqualified for the remainder of that game and will be reinstated to play in the next game.
  6. Preliminary Rounds Scoring:  WIN= 2 points, TIE=1 point, LOSS=0
  7.   In the case of a tie, there will be one five-minute sudden death running time period.  There are no time-outs in the preliminary round.  If sudden death overtime ends in a tie each team gets one point in the standings.
  8. Championship RoundTeams will be ranked based on points earned during the preliminary round. The top two teams by points will play in the Championship game.  The next two teams will play in the Third place game.  If teams are tied after the preliminary round, tie breakers will be as follows:   1) Head to head competition, 2) least goals given up, 3) goals scored, 4) coin toss, each team will be allowed one-one minute time-out during each game on Championship day. 
  9. Tie games in Championship Round will be decided in the following manner: 1) First tiebreaker - 10 minute sudden death overtime period 2) Second tiebreaker - a shoot out will run as follows: Coaches will divide their teams into five player pools and designate them 1 through 5.  Starting at the same time from center ice one player from each pool will simultaneously shoot on the opposing goalie.  The team with the most goals after the shootout will be the winner.  If the game is still tied after all five players have shot, then the five players in pool 2 from each team will repeat the shootout.  If the game is still tied then the players in pool 3 will shoot it out.  This process will continue until one team has outscored the other.  Coaches may change goalies at their discretion.
